Story on story within a Middle Eastern success story
Part of a PR and copywriter’s role is to get under the skin of a company or business and to keep pace and grow as it changes its shape and evolves over time. The more immersed we are within an organisation, the greater the value we can bring.
Over four years, as head of PR at Good With Words, I was privileged to part of the agency’s team of writers who supported the needs of Al Mouj Muscat, an extraordinary real estate development on the coast of Oman.
With complimentary skills, my role was mostly to deliver to the client’s PR requirements – to tell story on story to local, regional, sector-specific and when it warranted it, international media.
There was a lot to say and it was fascinating to learn about a country which is successfully delivering its own impact on its economy, the environment and the people of Oman.
Developing tourism is fundamental to a strategy striving for sustainable growth and Al Mouj Muscat, a multi-billion-pound community of luxury oceanfront homes complete with glamorous marina, championship golf course and ground-breaking business park is central to the Sultanate’s success.
From tales of how an artificial reef has transformed underwater marine life to the obligatory homes launches and the awards that followed, plus announcing strategic initiatives and partnerships and making sure community events like marathons were well publicised, the subjects covered were wide reaching.
To write a press release or feature article is one thing, but to see it published is another and I’m delighted with the results which were consistent and constant and we’re told, far exceeded client targets.
